Highlighter is most commonly used to accentuate and bring light to facial and/or body features. Infused with light-reflecting pigments/particles, highlighters help give the illusion of depth and angles, and come in many forms, including: powder, liquid, cream, gloss, stick, and jelly. Highlighter is typically applied to the high planes of the face, including: the tops of the cheekbones, bridge of the nose, cupid’s bow, center of the forehead, and chin. When paired with a contouring product, the two products can be used in conjunction to create the illusions of a slimmer nose, higher-looking cheekbones, and fuller lips.
